During 2018, as the General Manager of Tahmoor Coking Coal Operations, I volunteered my business unit to be part of a GFG pilot initiative to up-skill business unit leaders to be able to participate in Safety Maturity Evaluations across the business. GFG engaged SafetyWorks Group to facilitate this process. Terry facilitated the process workshop and provided coaching for leaders during the rollout in the field. As a result I gained a much better understanding of leadership and cultural factors that affect our safety performance. I also found the experience of evaluating other business safety cultures as very enlightening and helpful.
